Potassium silicate is a soluble silicate used as an anti-caking agent to keep salts and powders free-flowing. Silicates are poorly absorbed and biologically inert at the levels used in food, and silicon has no established toxicity from dietary exposure. No credible safety concern arises at food-use levels.
