Rice Bran Wax (E908): What It Is and Is It Safe?
Rice bran wax is a hard vegetable wax extracted from crude rice bran oil, composed mainly of esters of long-chain fatty acids and fatty alcohols. It is used as a glazing, coating and release agent on confectionery, fresh produce and supplements. It is poorly absorbed and physiologically inert, and the US FDA has accepted GRAS notices for its use as a coating agent.
