Distearyl thiodipropionate is the distearyl ester of thiodipropionic acid, used as an antioxidant that prevents fats and oils from turning rancid by decomposing oxidation peroxides. It is used at low levels and has low toxicity at those levels. It is not authorised as a food additive in the UK or EU.
