Ethyl Hydroxyethyl Cellulose (E467): What It Is and Is It Safe?
A modified cellulose in which some hydroxyl groups are etherified with ethyl and hydroxyethyl groups, giving a water-soluble thickener and stabiliser. Like other modified celluloses it is neither absorbed nor digested and passes through the gut largely unchanged. JECFA placed it in the modified-cellulose group with an ADI not specified, its safest category.
