Arabinogalactan (E409): What It Is and Is It Safe?

A highly branched polysaccharide extracted from larch wood of Larix species, also known as larch gum. It acts as an emulsifier, stabiliser and bulking agent and behaves as a fermentable soluble dietary fibre in the gut. It holds GRAS status in the US and shows no toxicity at dietary levels.
